WHO WE ARE
Meet Jen, Lindsey & Lauren
Jen believes that all births are beautiful and there is no one size fits all approach. After the birth of her 2nd daughter, by VBAC, she became aware of the different experiences mothers can have and was inspired to help women feel empowered, informed and respected during pregnancy and the birth process. As a birth doula, Jen focuses on the mother and partner by providing evidence based information and creating a supportive and soothing environment for her clients.
Jen is a DONA trained birth doula and completed her training in November 2015 at Bini Birth in Los Angeles. The training was taught Ana Paula (as seen in the movie The Business of Being Born).
Creating The Birth Boutique with her two amazing friends and doulas is a dream come true for Jen who had worked in advertising for many years prior to becoming a doula. She loves jewelry, The Dailey Method and hanging out with her husband and two girls in Chicago.
Lindsey believes that when a woman feels supported and informed in birth she will feel confident and connected in motherhood. Through her role as a birth doula in the Chicago community for the past several years, she has witnessed positive birth in many ways - from medicated to natural and from the operating room to your living room. Lindsey loves meeting new families and supporting their wishes for their birth.
Lindsey trained as a birth doula with DONA in 2012 .
Through her work as a doula, Lindsey re-discovered her love for photography and what a special addition that was to her services.
When Lindsey is not meeting, supporting or photographing new families, she can be found with her three boys (Oliver, Arlo & partner Dave) - they're probably at one of their "happy spots" - the Arboretum, the farmers market or their own backyard.
Lauren believes that birth is life’s greatest miracle. Her own experience of having a doula by her side during her pregnancy sparked a calling for wanting to be there for others in the same way. She feels that it is a woman’s right to have the birth experience she desires and aims to help families in making informed decisions while preparing for parenthood. It is Lauren’s goal to help create a safe space to ensure mothers and partners feels empowered and confident during their pregnancy and birth.
Lauren trained at an International doula training and certification program, toLabor. She has been trained as a doula since November, 2015.
In her spare time, Lauren enjoys spending quality time with her husband Greg and two children, Thomas and Madeline, as well as practicing yoga, running and relaxing on the beach.
